1. USB flash drive is one of device which can memorize the large amount of data. In 2000,the first USB flash drive, which maximum capacity is 128MB, released.But now, the capacity is over 1TB. In short, it is about  1000000 times larger than that of first made one.    However, USB flash drive's amazing feature is not only its capacity, but also its size. The more technology developed,　the smaller it becomes. So we can carry your data wherever you go. Furthermore, USB flash drive can use for virtualization. From the above, there are many ways how to use it.                                                                                        On the other hand, security is so weak, because most of people use it without protect by using security key words. If you lose it, the data may be seen by someone who found.Therefore, it's important for you to protect it.                                                            
2. I usually use it for carrying my data, especially my homework, classes' materials and so on. Though USB flash drive is one of device, it have some fears excluding physical damages. Attacking by virus is one of　them. For not to do so, I use freeware which can block virus, or remove them.USB flash drive becomes useful, and the design is attractive. So you can choice your likable one.
